About Us:
The same philosophy of personal attention that distinguishes Yorkville Education Company as a leading provider of post-secondary education makes us an exceptional place to work. We are a progressive and modern institution, responding to the needs of current and future students and implementing the best technology solutions to empower our work. We prioritize diversity, open doors to those often overlooked, welcome new Canadians, and provide pathways to successful careers.

Yorkville Education Company (which manages both Yorkville University and the Toronto Film School) began with a simple idea in 2004: offer flexible, rigorous, and career-focused degrees on campus and online to people who are on a purposeful path. With campuses in Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick, we equip our graduates with the professional knowledge, skills and designations that employers value.

Focused on providing a transformative, accessible and flexible higher education environment, our teams, from the President to the newest staff member, share a passion for learning, teaching, and growing as individuals and as teams. We nurture an inclusive, supportive, and genuinely kind work environment at our three campus locations.

If you want to shine a light on academic excellence, be empowered to make an impact on the transformation of the Canadian post-secondary education landscape, and work collaboratively beyond levels, join us.
Who we need:
The Program Advisor’s primary purpose is to foster student success measured by timely program completion and/or continuing enrolment in university programs. The program advisor administers a calendar of customer service activities including following up with students at-risk of departure, managing term registration follow-up and connecting with withdrawn students and students on leave of absence to encourage re-entry. Working as part of a team, this position is also responsible for proactively linking students with a variety of services and support mechanisms, namely academic, financial services, IT support, student life and tutoring.
If you want to take on a role where you can make a profound difference on the experience of students, and design better ways to serve them, we’d love to hear from you.
What you will do:
  • Ensure student commitment, engagement, and success measured by timely program completion or continuing enrolment.
  • Following up with term registrations to ensure students are following their plan of study.
  • Work with the Registrar's Office to confirm student registration issues are resolved within the established timelines.
  • Connect with students based on indications they may be at risk of departure or poor coursework and attendance performance.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of graduation ceremonies.
  • Administer withdrawal and re-entry protocols.
  • You will reach out to students on leaves of absence (LOAs) and offer pathways and services to support re-enrollment.
  • Assist with student retention and persistence reporting.
  • Connect students to support services.
  • Assist students in accessing academic, financial, IT, tutoring, housing and health and wellness services.
  • Follow up to ensure the appropriate level of support was provided and to redirect if necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
  • Undergraduate degree and 2+ years working in student services or customer services.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, which translates to a commitment to student success.
  • Collaborative and collegial, driven to accomplish team goals.
  • High standards of ethics and integrity and you share our mission to change lives.
  • Exposure to a higher learning setting is preferred, including understanding student support systems and how they work together.
  • You ask intelligent questions, actively listen and approach problems analytically and creatively.
  • Focused on finding solutions that are action-oriented and leverage and link to existing supports and services.
  • Advanced communication skills – written, verbal, email.
  • You can build trusting relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • A deep appreciation for diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Detail-oriented with meticulous record keeping skills.
