Responsibilities


The Network Design Analyst is responsible for design and implementation of Enterprise networks and related technologies. Performs the role of technical Project Leader for voice and data network projects, and subject matter expert for technology projects with networking elements. Oversees operational deployment of new and upgraded networking technologies. Participates in prototyping and proof of concept activities to inform technology selection. Assesses technical design requirements and translates into system specifications. Provides expertise and assistance to Enterprise staff concerning network infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications


EDUCATION


Requires a diploma in computer science or related discipline from a recognized institute of technology, specializing in data communications and networking systems. Industry standard network or security certifications are an asset.


EXPERIENCE


Requires six (6) years previous experience in an information systems environment involving the design, installation, troubleshooting and in support of enterprise network infrastructure with a significant focus on and knowledge of design and implementation practices.


A further period of up to one (1) year on the job is required to become thoroughly familiar with the enterprise architecture plan, BTS policies and standards and its specific network operating systems and infrastructure components.


Expert level skills in the following will be an asset:

Network hardware and configuration (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related equipment).

Network routing and switching protocols.

Supporting technologies such as DNS, DHCP, data encryption, VPN, MFA, AAA.

Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and remediation of network related issues.

Data and voice cabling standards.


High level of proficiency in the following will be an asset:

Network topology design.

High availability and highly resilient network configuration.

Cloud and hybrid cloud networking.

Software defined infrastructure.

Voice network protocols and configuration.

Other Information


Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule


37.5 hours per week.

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay


Salary $8,460 - $10,159 per month(Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
