Position Title
Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to our people programs and projects and maintain daily activities.
Location: Burnaby, BC
Type: Onsite
Reporting to: Manager, Human Resources
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and support all employee relations matters.
- Maintain employer branding activities, including but not limited to scheduled postings and career fairs.
- Maintain weekly newsletters and ensure clear communication with teams across IBC.
- Organize quarterly town halls and lead monthly events and activities planning and organizing.
- Coordinate the annual performance review, merit planning and payroll change processes.
- Assist in projects within the performance, talent, and merit cycles.
- Administer the benefits enrollment and change process.
- Process regular and off-cycle payroll.
- Provide training to managers and team members on the payroll, timesheet, PTO, and absence management procedures.
- Coordinate the recruitment process from shortlist to reference checks.
- Manage team member onboarding and offboarding.
- Document and communicate safety committee meeting minutes and support driving progress on the action plans.
- Process claims and coordinate the GRTW plans with WorkSafe and employees.
- Create and verify various weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Support attendance management through call-in administration and corrective actions.
- Co-chair the employee committee and support driving progress on the action plans.
- Answer general employee inquiries and support workplace investigation where one is due.
- Maintain employee records and files.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management.
Work Experience:
- Three to five years of experience in general human resources or employee relations roles.
- Previous experience with payroll and benefits administration is an asset.
- Previous experience leading team events and activities.
- Previous experience supporting a workplace investigation.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to actively listen and communicate with empathy.
- Working knowledge of change management procedures and possess a people-driven mindset.
- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with team members.
- Ability to communicate concisely and clearly through both written and verbal means.
- Ability to plan and organize projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze data sets and identify trends.
- Ability to provide solutions to issues identified in data trends.
- Ability to work with a great amount of detail and audit against errors.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, specifically Pivot Table and VLookUp.
