Hendrickson is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of medium- and heavy-duty

mechanical, elastomeric and air suspensions; integrated and non-integrated axle and

brake systems; tire pressure control systems; auxiliary lift axle systems; parabolic and

multi-leaf springs; stabilizers; bumpers; and components to the global commercial

transportation industry.

Hendrickson is seeking a Tolling Designer for its Stratford, ON operations.

Position Summary:

The tooling designer is responsible to prepare tooling designs for the Rolling Mills and Assembly departments and support manufacturing with corrective actions and continuous improvement

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare tooling designs as required for the New Product Schedule.
  • Incorporate quick change features as appropriate.
  • Produce detail tooling drawings.
  • Meet deadlines as specified.
  • Assist with the manufacture of tooling as appropriate
  • Supervise first use to ensure appropriate shapes, installation and efficient use
  • Coordinate and ensure acceptable rework if necessary
  • Design and develop efficient tooling for the Rolling Mills and Production Assembly
  • Incorporate standardization and quick-change methods whenever appropriate
  • Document and catalogue all tooling lists for set-up and control purposes.
  • Maintain drawings current

Education and Training

  • Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Degree (or equivalent)
  • 5 years Tooling Design Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Problem Solving and Project Management experience
  • Hands-on shop floor experience
  • Working knowledge of APQP and IATF requirements
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in MasterCam

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
