Job Overview

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Project Manager to join Raute, a global leader in wood-based panel manufacturing technology and engineered production solutions. Raute designs and delivers advanced machinery, automation systems, and lifecycle services that enable manufacturers to produce plywood, LVL, and veneer efficiently and sustainably.

This role is firmly rooted in the manufacturing and industrial engineering sector. In this role, you will report directly to the VP, Services North America and lead complex customer projects through the full lifecycle—from planning to execution—within the engineered industrial equipment and manufacturing sector. Your focus will be on delivering operational excellence, aligning project execution with financial goals, and fostering strong client relationships.

In this role you

  • Manage Raute customer projects in the $100,000 to $15M Capex range though entire project life cycle. Assist in sales process, project kickoff, manage projects, arrange for successful commissioning, customer acceptance, and support through the warranty period, 
  • Organize, manage, and motivate project teams by providing well-defined and achievable project targets, 
  • Foster good customer relations while supporting Raute’s financial objectives, 
  • Support and resolve project or customer conflicts and issues, 
  • Participate in project planning and detailed scheduling ,
  • Provide weekly reports on project costs, hours expended, and schedule comparison to project baseline and budget, 
  • Proactively produce detailed project reports advising project performance, outlining specific challenges, obstacles, and scheduling issues, 
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers on continuing development of Project Management processes and systems, 
  • Evaluate, and assess project results and conduct lessons learned workshops, 
  • Promote and drive Raute’s vision of being a leading organization in the industry through teamwork and shared accountability, 
  • Work alongside internal supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and machinery, and collaboratively address any expediting needs,
  • Other responsibilities as required.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 10 year’s work experience in Project Management, engineering/technical, service, or sales, with at least 5 years of progressive Project Management experience, 
  • PMI certification in Project Management (PMP) is preferred but not essential, 
  • P. Eng status with EGBC is preferred but not required, 
  • Experience in projects focused on mechanical (machinery & systems) and/or electrical scopes. Construction management experience is an asset, 
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and/or change management,  
  • Proficiency in project management software tools: MS D365, MS Project, MS Excel, and Power BI, are assets, 
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential, 
  • Technical background with a mechanical aptitude is required. Experience with machinery and material handling is preferred, 
  • Experience in the wood industry is preferred but not essential, 
  • Ability to legally travel to customer sites in Canada, USA, and occasionally abroad, 
  • Must possess a valid passport and driver’s license.
