THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior Project Manager to join a team of environmental professionals in our Edmonton office. Our project managers are the cornerstone of our projects and are committed to outstanding client service. Our client base ranges from regional clients to multi-national oil and gas companies, government entities, First Nations communities, hydro and power companies, mining, renewables, and transportation firms. This is a fulltime, permanent position.
Reporting to the Edmonton Operations Manager you will be responsible for:
- Planning, organizing, managing, and reporting on a diverse array of projects and tasks
- Managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects
- Establishing and developing client relationships that facilitate successful delivery of projects and the maintenance of future and ongoing opportunities
- Leading the development of reports, proposals, and cost estimates
- Leading interdisciplinary teams of environmental professionals to effectively deliver environmental projects across our regional and national client base
- Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
- Developing and maintaining a network of industry contacts
- Mentoring and supporting junior project managers with project management best practices
- Supporting corporate business development initiatives
- Ensuring client’s and Triton’s safety and quality standards are maintained or exceeded
- Promoting and maintaining a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the office, region, and between other areas of the organization
SKILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in a related management field and/or demonstrated experience in project management
- 10+ years of demonstrated increasing experience in project management (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting, and scope control), leadership, and supervision of project teams all while providing excellent service to clients
- Professional project management designation (e.g. PMP, CAPM)
- Strong problem solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with the ability to think outside the box
- Mindset of continuous improvement with a sense of urgency and a passion for success
NICE TO HAVE
- Previous experience in the environmental sector and understanding of the regional market and business development opportunities
- Knowledge of Canadian federal and Alberta provincial environmental assessment legislation
