Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at our logistics and distribution facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive knowledge of warehouse distribution, supply chain management, and transportation systems. This role is critical in ensuring efficient freight handling, order fulfillment, and process improvements across the terminal. The Terminal Manager will lead a team responsible for shipping & receiving, materials management, procurement, and warehouse activities, utilizing various ERP systems and warehouse management tools to optimize performance.

Duties

  • Oversee all terminal operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials management to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Manage warehouse activities such as order picking, packaging, and inventory control using Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP systems like AS400, and other transportation management systems.
  • Coordinate procurement and sourcing activities to maintain optimal inventory levels while controlling costs related to pricing and demand planning.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, safety standards, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Supervise freight operations including 3PL partnerships, freight negotiations, and transportation logistics to streamline supply chain processes.
  • Utilize data analysis skills to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper use of equipment such as forklifts and CMMS for maintenance scheduling and safety compliance.
  • Lead a team of warehouse staff by providing training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on e-commerce fulfillment, sourcing initiatives, and demand planning to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, supply chain management or logistics leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (including AS400), procurement processes, and transportation management systems.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision-making purposes.
  • Experience with freight negotiations, 3PL coordination, shipping & receiving operations, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS software for maintenance tracking and safety compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership qualities including team management, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strategic thinking.
