Full job description

Continental Chain and Rigging is seeking an organized, resourceful, and hands-on Branch Manager to assist with day-to-day branch logistics, and customer service needs. This role is aimed at increasing operational agility and managing resources more efficiently during an evolving market and supply chain landscape. This is a critical support role designed to increase efficiency across the branch by streamlining order flow, coordinating inventory and supporting sales and service teams.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Oversees activities directly related to production and services; schedule jobs and lead projects to ensure their successful completion

  • Plans, directs and coordinates employees, preparing work schedules and assigning specific tasks

  • Works with employees to support the branch goals and control expenses to stay within operational budget

  • Track and report the status of open work orders, repairs, quotes, and jobs to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met

  • Provides continuous leadership, coaching, goal setting, and planning

  • Generate business through cold calls, site visits, and networking

  • Motivate employees and maintain a positive work environment

  • Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling to meet customer and company expectations

  • Hold employees accountable for the quality of their work

  • Communicate and enforce the company’s safety and quality policies, including all ISO 9001 and COR safety requirements

  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality and safety by maintaining a clean, safe and organized department


Required knowledge and training

  • A university/college degree preferably in Business Management or a related discipline, or a combination of a high school diploma and relevant work experience

  • Previous management experience is required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable

  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level

  • Ability to establish work priorities, meet deadlines, and follow procedures

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and employees

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/CRM software an asset

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of rigging, lifting, or industrial equipment preferred but not required

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
