Full job description

Organizational Relationship:
Reports to the Clinical Supervisors of Psychological Services and to the Senior Manager and Clinical Lead for Psychological Services.

Summary:
The Psychometrist provides assessment, consultation and direct support to students, schools and families in order to promote mental health, well-being, and school achievement. Crisis response and capacity building also are expected.

Psychometrists are directly supervised by a Family of Schools Clinical Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assume responsibilities for Psychological Services that are offered to designated elementary and/or secondary schools.

Provide consultation to educational staff and to parents/guardians through appropriate assessment and related programming procedures.

Provide direct support to students to promote mental health, well-being, and school achievement.

When a traumatic event, violent incident or suicidal risk occurs, provide consultation to schools and/or direct support to students within a prioritized and expedient time.

Prepare and present professional development to promote capacity building for educators, parents/guardians, and other support staff or community groups.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager and Clinical Lead for Psychological Services or the Clinical Supervisors of Psychological Services.

Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in applied psychology from an accredited university.

2. A minimum of two years experience with school-aged children, youth, and/or their families.

3. An asset is experience in providing mental health services for children and youth.

4. Registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario is preferred
